How to fake it?

Simple, just follow these steps:

1. Browse through What is on offer and choose the dishes you want.

2. Pick up your phone and dial 07981 77 11 07. If I'm not there then leave a message on the answering machine and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Alternatively drop me an e-mail. You may know by now what you want and how much it will cost but if you're still unsure I'm more than happy to advise.
Please note that you will need to give me as much warning as possible. I recommend at least a week's notice to guarantee delivery.

3. Tell me:
The date and time you need the food.
What you want and for how many
.
If you need a delivery I will need your address.

The map below shows the delivery area and charges.
Deliveries over £150 are free. Delivery only available on orders over £35.
Please note deliveries are only possible within the Edinburgh area. You may wish to pick up the order yourself in which case we just need to make a date and time for the handover of goods!

4. Once a price has been worked out send a 50% deposit to confirm the order.
The balance is payable on delivery
.

5. When the food arrives, transfer it into in your own dishes. Just think how impressed Auntie Gladys will be to see that expensive looking casserole dish she gave you as a wedding present appear from the oven. She'll never know it's the first time it's seen the light of day since you got married!

6. Finally, you will be provided with a cheat sheet to tell you what to do with the food and what to say when asked awkward questions. The cheat sheet will give crucial information to ensure you put everthing in the oven at the right time and just as importantly, take it out at the right time. It will also give you hints and tips on presentation. Click on cheat sheet to see an example.

Frequently asked questions:

Q : How much notice do I need to give?

A : Orders are dealt with on a first come first served basis so to guarantee an order then the more notice you give the better. I recommend a minimum notice of seven days.

Q : Do you deliver?

A : Yes, but only in the Edinburgh area. Deliveries over £150 are free, all other deliveries are priced according to the area. See the map on the How to fake it page for further information.

Q : Can I pick my order up?

A : Yes you can. We just need to arrange a date and time and you can collect the order yourself.

Q : I don't know how many canapes I need, can you help?

A : Yes, go to the canape menu and click on guidelines for help in deciding what you require. If you are still unsure then give me a call.

Q : Is there a minimum order?

A : Some of the items on the menu have a minimum batch number (eg, the minimum batch number for a canape is 12). Unless it states otherwise on the menu the minimum order number is two for starters, main courses and side dishes.

Q : How many side dishes should I choose?

A : That is up to you but I would recommend two. If you have any concerns just ask. On the Main course menu I have recommended the side dishes that best compliment each item.

Q : Is the food frozen or is it freshly prepared?

A : As the menu is extensive I do not batch cook or freeze in advance. All ingredients are sourced and prepared for your specific event.

Q : I don't have enough crockery / cutlery, can you help?

A : I can help you place an order with Andrew Wilson and Sons who specialise in cater hire.

Q : I want to present the food on my own plates and dishes, is that possible?

A :Yes, most of the food can be transferred into your own dishes on delivery ready to slip into the oven or onto the table.

Q : I can't decide what I want, can you help?

A : Yes. I want your party to be a success as much as you do so I am happy to give advice and make recommendations if you are unsure what to choose. You can also click on Menus to give you some menu ideas.

Q : One of my guests has a food intolerance, what can I give them?

A : Click on Special diets and look out for the symbols beside each dish to help you make your decision. If you have any concerns I am happy to advise you. If you or your guest has a nut allergy please let me know so extra care can be taken in the preparation of your food.

Q : Do I need to pay a deposit?

A : Yes, a non-refundable deposit of 50% is required before your order can be confirmed. The balance is payable on delivery.

Q : How do I pay?

A : You can pay by cash or cheque. A price will be calculated when you place your order so you know exactly how much it will cost.

Q : How will I know what to do with the food when it arrives?

A : All food is supplied with a cheat sheet, which gives all the information you require to guide you through.
